The Nursery Re-Certified as BCorp

CEO, David Alterman, reflects on The Nursery's re-certification as BCorp

We are delighted to confirm that The Nursery has just been re-certified as a BCorp.

Thanks to the efforts of our hardworking BCorp team, Melanie Bigoni, Rachael Turner, Rob Hartley, Frankie Hardman, and partners across the business we have also managed to dramatically increase our score from 100.5 to 123.3 since our first certification in 2022. (apparently the average score for businesses who apply for BCorp status is 55 and 80 is the magic number to qualify – so by any measure we have done extremely well).

As many research agencies have discovered the last couple of years have not been straightforward. Global and local economic pressures and the emergence of cheap (and sometimes nasty) AI solutions have heaped pressure on consultancy-based research companies like The Nursery.

It would have been very easy to cut corners and row back from expensive and time-consuming initiatives like BCorp, but across the business our partners have committed to doubling down on our investment in our social and environmental credentials.

From instigating a new charity committee, helping in the local community, upgrading our support for partners with new policies covering family, perimenopause and menopause, enhanced pension provision, flexible hybrid working, broader-based recruitment strategies and an ongoing commitment to reaching net zero carbon emissions in 2026 we have stayed the course and are, just quietly, very proud of ourselves.

The Nursery delivers inspiring research around people, brands and creativity. Our methods are designed to explore audiences, inform and measure brand effectiveness and nurture new ideas. Our 50 researchers and data scientists work across the world from our London hub. For us, research is an investment and we use our skills and experience to make the most of that investment. We always focus on the future, seeing the possibilities for your brand to grow. Get in touch hello@the-nursery.net to learn more.
