CEO David Alterman reflects on digital disillusionment

So, my window on the world is becoming ever narrower as we kick off 2025.

I’ve shut down my Twitter account, obviously, on the basis we will be hearing plenty enough from Elon Musk through conventional media channels.

Facebook (once loved by us baby boomers) has now become a no-go area as Zuckerberg confirms that he is abandoning any commitment to telling the truth.

My daughters do Instagram, so I figured I should keep off it,

TikTok is now a plot by the Chinese Government, as they plan global hegemony, so that’s out.

Which leaves us right here on LinkedIn. Thankfully this seems to be a safe space, for now. All I have to do is wade through the tips from life coaches, ads for the Qatar Tourist board, wisdom from Steven Bartlett, photos from remote working company’s away days and proud pictures of grinning, evening-dressed teams winning industry awards.

Yes there is a familiarity to much of the content – but it remains, for now, a non-toxic, professional space which gives you access to interesting informed content.

So I am not sure this adds to the pot of interesting informed content – but if nothing else, in the spirit of full disclosure which is central to The Nursery culture, The Nursery is here, thriving and all set for the challenges 2025 sends our way.

Bring it on.
