Exploring HCP openness to new technologies to inform NPD opportunity assessment.

In order to understand the opportunity and context for a new technology that will launch in 10 years' time, we needed experienced, specialist input on the future landscape and anticipated challenges

We identified and interviewed surgeons and specialist nurses who are engaged with future medical device developments and in a position to influence behaviours in their hospitals

We used qualitative cognitive interviewing to ensure participants were evaluating the new technology in a future-focused mindset, and scenario thinking exercises to systemically explore the future holistically

What the research delivered 

•Expert perspective on the challenges that medical devices will need to overcome in the next 10 years

•A clear understanding of the potential drivers and limitations to use for a novel technology in the context of future challenges and needs
